Foot & Ankle Placements

Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar Sole

The plantar sole may contain the inflamed plantar fascia, making it the primary placement location for pain relief and management of foot conditions like plantar fasciitis and general foot soreness.

Peripheral Neuropathy

Posterior Tibial Nerve

The posterior tibial nerve is responsible for motor control and sensory function for the lower leg and foot. This is the primary placement for helping to retain improved plantar sensation in neuropathy patients.

Drop Foot

Tibialis Anterior

The tib anterior is the primary dorsiflexor of the foot and ankle. This would be the primary placement to help improve dorsiflexion to combat drop foot alongside rehab.

Inability to Point Toes Down

Gastrocnemius & Soleus

Pairing gastro and soleus placements can help with plantar flexion. Plantar flexion is the movement where you point your toes downwards, away from your shin, or towards the floor.

Inversion & Eversion

Tibialis Anterior & Peroneus

Pairing tib anterior and peroneus placements can help with inversion and eversion. Inversion is the inward turning of the foot, bringing the sole of the foot closer to the middle of the body, while eversion is the outward turning, moving the sole away from the middle.
