Pulse Routine: Dealing with MS
When treating MS, it is important that you do physical therapy (whether on your own or with a practitioner) as soon as possible and stay consistent with it. This routine can work as an adjunct to PT work to help you achieve the best outcome.
This routine contains varied levels of exercise, warm-up and recovery protocols to help you where you’re at.
1. Decrease Tightness (Improve Mobility)
These settings can be used before or after physical therapy or on their own. Local vibration therapy at this frequency has also been shown to reduce spasticity. No movement required.
Setting Used:
Motor Function: MS: Constant/Pulsing
Constant will typically give more relief. Pulsing will help the brain connect to the muscle
Placement:
Place the devices wherever you want to bring relief
Frequency:
Up to 15 minutes daily
2. Strength Training (For Strengthening)
These settings are great to help activate muscles during exercise.
Setting Used:
Rehab: Strength Training: Training or Performance Standard
Frequency:
Up to 30 minutes a day
Use:
With your PT exercises
Placement:
Place on whichever muscle you wish to engage.
3. Stretching & Warm-Up (Increase Range of Motion and Flexibility)

Setting Used:
Warm-up Type 2
Use:
Before stretching or in place of stretching if unable to stretch.

Helps to increase blood flow to the area and get your muscles prepared for movement.
b. For Stretching:
Setting Used:
Warm-up Type 1
Time:
Use up to 15 minutes, alongside your stretches
Benefit:
Aids in deepening your stretches. Helps to increase Range of Motion while stretching and focus on spastic muscles.
